Louboutin high heels are very popular, but expensive. This makes them a target for fakes. Lets see how to identify genuine Christian Louboutin high heels.
As with all expensive designer items, genuine Christian Louboutin high heels come with a special box, bag and lots of subtle details that can help you identify the real deal from the fakes. Keep in mind though sometimes the fakes are very, very close to the original with only minor differences.
We’ve seen a pair that was so close to the genuine Louboutins that the only way to spot the difference was to actually touch them and feel that the leather was not quite up to par with the real Louboutins. Which is to be expected of course, as they use quite an expensive leather.
Anyway here are the tell-tale signs
How to identify genuine Christian Louboutin high heels
It all starts from the box. Most fake Louboutins use cheap cardboard that flexes easily and the colors, and sometimes the writing are slightly different than the real deal. All boxes feature the company logo on the top and side of the lid.
All boxes feature a white sticker on the side that gives information about the model and color of the shoes. There should also be a barcode and the logo of the company. If you have a barcode reading app on your smartphone, try to verify the barcode on the box. Sadly not all apps will have this data, but it’s worth a try.
Right, the box is only part of the search. It could be a real box with fake shoes inside. If you open a brand new box and the shoes are NOT inside a soft fabric red bag with the Christian Louboutin logo and the word Paris on it, just walk away. If it’s a used pair and dosen’t have the bag, it means that the heels might have not been maintained properly.
Next, take one shoe and exaime it. There should be a Christian Louboutin logo in the insole of the shoe, right where your own heel would go. Some models can have the word Paris written there too. It’s best to check with photos of the shoes online.
Naturally the soles of the shoes should be red. They should also be leather. The red should cover all of the underside of the shoe including the inside of the heel. There should be a stamped logo in the soles as well and the country in which the shoes are made (usually Italy, but not always). The size is also written. Half sizes always are displayed with a 1/2 and not a .5.
A great way to easily spot a fake is always to look at the overall finish of the shoe. The inside soles should be leather. The stitching everywhere on the shoes must be near perfect. There should be no gaps. The stitching should be even, tight, straight and with a neat finish. This is also valid everywhere on the shoes, not only on the inside.
If all of this is present, then you quite likely have a pair of genuine Christian Louboutin high heels. There is no guarantee though, especially if you are buying them from classifieds. But on the other hand you never know. Sometimes you might just come across a great deal.
