Despite all the flack high heels are getting these days, they are still popular. They have changed a lot though and today’s popular styles are interesting to say the least.

Some of the classics are still here and still enjoy a lot of attention. There are also some newer styles which are gaining popularity.

So, if you want to stick to the classics, or look different, high heels still have you covered Harper’s Bazaar showed off some of the most popular types of high heels lately.

Among them we see some staples like the stiletto. These high heels will always be popular and for good reason. They look great with many outfits and styles and can drive anyone wild. As long as you can handle them, as they can be a bit of a challenge to newbies. Stiletto heels are always thin and high. And always great.

Kitten heels

Next up, the kitten heel. It has long been neglected by fashionistas because it’s low and a bit of “grandma-like”. But women who like the feel of a heel, but also the comfort of a lower height, brought them back. Kitten heels are ideal for the office as they are comfortable, yet elegant.

Also, the wedge heels. They are an old style, dating to 1935 when they debuted as an… orthopedic shoe. Then they went away, then they came back more popular than ever. Now you can find them in various styles and heights for almost all occasions. Plus, they are comfortable and give better support.

The block high heels also enjoy a lot of attention. They came back a few years ago and became quite popular. Easy to see why – they can be high, but give a lot more support, making walking on rough pavement and streets much, much easier.
